The commercial capital, St John’s, is a hive of colourful, sun-bleached wooden shops and businesses lining narrow streets. It is also entirely walkable - from the waterfront south to the National Cricket Stadium just outside the city - in about a quarter of an hour.
Past Falmouth on the south coast is historic Nelson’s Dockyard, fringing English Harbour. This piece of living history is the world’s only fully preserved Georgian Naval dockyard, dating back to the 18th century.
