From the short flight from the Maldives you’ll arrive at Colombo airport with your private chauffeur guide waiting to greet you and take you to your car. You’ll be driven to Habarana where you’ll spend the next couple of nights. Once you’ve checked in you’ll be left to enjoy the day at your leisure to either enjoy your hotel or explore your surroundings. 

After breakfast you’ll be taken to the UNESCO World heritage site of Sigiriya Rock. This spectacular fortress was once home of King Kasyapa, who built his palace at the summit of the 200 metre rock. The climb up to the summit takes in stunning views of the surrounding green forests as far as the eye can see and the rock face decorated with colourful frescoes. You’ll surely be amazed at the thought of an ancient civilisation climbing the near vertical rock to build an incredible temple but don’t be phased as today the climb up is made easier with partial stone walkways and stairwells.

Upon your descent and catching some light refreshments you’ll be taken to Mineriya National Park. The National park covers a large expanse of land which boasts dry tropical wetlands and grasslands. Hiring a 4x4 jeep a specialist guide will take you on an adventure of a lifetime through streams and dry terrains on a search for these unusually elusive creatures. After a busy adventure filled day the short journey back to your hotel will surely be a welcome site as you unwind for the remainder of the day at your own pace.     

After checking out you’ll head to the spiritual heartland of the Island to the City of Kandy. The Tooth Relic Temple where the Buddha’s tooth is enshrined will give you a truly authentic experience of the reverence Sri Lankan’s hold towards the Buddhist faith. The UNESCO world Heritage site is a bustling temple busy with worshippers keen to pay their respects.

A short drive away is the splendid Botanical gardens where you can spend time walking through the exotic gardens with its many wonderful plants and flowers. You can easily forget that you are in a busy city with the tranquillity of your surroundings.

Your chauffeur guide can take you around the city to explore the city and may be a good place to get some much needed gifts for those back home.

The drive up to the tea country is one of the most exhilarating drives you’ll ever take as you drive around the winding roads up the mist filled hill tops. The true splendour of this place is unravelled as you reach the summit and look down on the green tea fields below. A visit to a tea factory will certainly give you a better appreciation of how our favourite brew is made and be sure to visit the shop and get your fill of fresh tea.

You’ll be taken to your hotel and the remainder of the day will be of your choosing to either explore the quite surroundings or relax at your hotel.  

You’ll have a really early start today with a visit to another of Sri Lanka’s UNESCO world heritage sites. Horton Plains offers walkers a splendid tour of the baron, high-altitude marshland with the pinnacle being the dramatically plunging summit known as Worlds End. If you’re brave enough get close to the edge and peer down the kilometre drop to the vast greenlands below. The Horton Plains are a world apart from the rest of Sri Lanka, with the misty and damp landscape where the climate is ideal for fostering a unique ecosystem of its own.

If this doesn’t sound like fun then you can always take to the Golf courses or horse riding around the town. 

You are now approaching the last few days of your time in this magical country and what better way to reflect on a holiday of a lifetime with a few days spent on a gorgeous beach? Unwind with a relaxing spa treatment to leave you refreshed and rejuvenated for your flight back home. 

Today you’ll be leaving for the airport and taking the short flight over to the magical Islands of Maldives and to your resort Sheraton Full Moon resort. Either a speedboat or seaplane transfer will whisk you over to the Island which will be home for the next seven nights.

If your idea of paradise is a perfect, peaceful, consistently sunny island with deserted pure white beaches and swaying palm trees coupled with brilliant turquoise lagoons then you wont look nowhere else but the Maldives. 

Enjoy some of the finest food and luxuries at your resort and if you can find the time away from relaxing then you can try your hand at snorkelling around the Island or venture out and go fishing.
